What is UNASA?

The United Nations Association of the USA is the foremost NGO charged with advancing the goals of the UN Charter through education and advocacy.  The UNA has a rich network of contacts and opportunities for students and is itself part of the World Federation of UNAs.

What is the Student Alliance?

The UNA Student Alliance program is the student chapter level of UNA, a forum through which students can examine global challenges through the network of student advocacy groups, international affairs clubs, and Model UN teams around the world.

Why did ROMUN merge with UNASA?

This is obviously a natural fit for the Royal Oak Model UN team as it seeks to expand its advocacy opportunities.  By essentially merging a new UNASA chapter with ROMUN, our team is offered more opportunities to grow leadership through projects while conserving resources.  Students in ROMUN are offered the opportunity for membership in UNASA or Royal Oak, but that is not a requirement of the ROMUN team.  The two organizations carry the same agenda, however, and the advantage to UNASA membership is in its additional opportunities.
